OAKLAND COUNTY, MI – At least four people, including a teenager, were injured Tuesday, October 8, due to a multi-vehicle crash in Southfield, according to ClickOnDetroit.
Southfield Police said the incident unfolded in the area of 12 Mile and Marimoor Drive, at about 7:40 a.m.
Preliminary details show a 16-year-old girl was behind the wheel of a car that was turning left from Marimoor Drive onto 12 Mile when her car hit a police department vehicle. The impact set the patrol car into an eastbound vehicle driven by a 58-year-old woman from Wixom.
First responders treated the teen driver at the scene, indicating more minor injuries. The 58-year-old woman and an unspecified number of Southfield police officers from the patrol vehicle had to be taken to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials noted that at the time of the wreck, the patrol car had been traveling less than 40 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone, and that the officers were not responding to any calls.
No pending charges or citations were immediately reported following the incident.
