MACOMB TOWNSHIP, MI – A teenager lost his life Tuesday morning as a result of a multi-vehicle crash on Groesbeck Highway in Clinton Township, according to ClickOnDetroit.
The fatal accident was reported near the intersection with Macomb Industrial Drive (North Avenue) at about 7:14 a.m.
An early investigation found that the teen was operating a white 2013 Chevrolet Impala northbound on Groesbeck Highway. At one point, a silver 2023 Chevrolet Blazer entered the center lane in order to turn onto southbound North Avenue and was hit by the Impala, which had veered into the center lane. The Impala then entered oncoming traffic and collided with a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado.
Officials confirmed the teen driver was pronounced deceased at McLaren Macomb Hospital.
The driver of the Blazer, a 38-year-old woman, was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries and has since been released.
The driver of the Silverado, 49, received treatment for a minor injury at the scene and was also released.
Clinton Township Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash, but drugs and alcohol are not believed to have been factors.
