OAKLAND COUNTY, MI – Authorities responded to a motorcycle collision early last Saturday, July 20, in Pontiac that ultimately claimed the life of a 39-year-old man, according to MLive.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said the fatal wreck occurred on Woodward Avenue at Osmun Street, just southwest of Unity Park Neighborhood. It was first reported at about 2:42 a.m.
Preliminary details indicate that the victim, a Waterford Township resident, was operating a 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on Woodward Avenue. At one point, for reasons still being investigated, the bike ran off the roadway and entered the median.
Officials said the rider, who was not wearing a helmet and who was ejected from the bike, collided with a traffic sign. First responders rushed the victim to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
