WAYNE COUNTY, MI – A 33-year-old woman died last Friday, July 19, in Dearborn following a two-vehicle wreck involving a speeding driver, according to ClickOnDetroit.
Dearborn Police Department officials said the fatal collision unfolded at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Nowlin Street, near Westborn Mall.
A preliminary investigation found that a 26-year-old Taylor woman was operating an SUV at 100 mph on Michigan Avenue when she ran a traffic light, causing a crash with the victim’s Ford F-150 pickup truck, which was heading northbound on Nowlin Street.
The victim, a local resident, died from her injuries at the scene.
Dearborn Fire Department crews had the Taylor woman transported to a hospital in Metro Detroit for unspecified injuries. As of Wednesday, July 24, she remained in the hospital.
