BARRY COUNTY, MI – A 23-year-old man died last Friday afternoon, October 25, due to a two-vehicle wreck near Irving, according to WILX 10.
The Barry County Sheriff’s Office said the fatal incident unfolded on a stretch of West State Road near Wood School Road, shortly after 1:00 p.m.
Preliminary details collected at the scene indicate the young man, a Hastings resident, was driving when he veered past the center line, causing his car to collide head-on with another vehicle.
First responders pronounced the Hastings man deceased.
The other driver, a 41-year-old woman, was rushed to a local hospital where her condition remains undisclosed.
It’s unclear at this time whether drugs or alcohol use contributed to the accident. Authorities continue to investigate.
